After the Board meeting in Geneva on the 7th and 8th of July 2010, the Chair of the Millennium Foundation would like to:
- Underline the innovative character of the Voluntary Solidarity Contribution project named MASSIVEGOOD and launched in the Travel and Tourism sector with the objective of raising funds to support the Millennium Development Goals for HIV/Aids, Malaria, Tuberculosis and Child and Maternal Health;
- Note the original and innovative nature of the Public Private Partnership of the Millennium Foundation that manages this programme;
- Note the importance of new technology, working flawlessly, that allows this Innovative Financing initiative to reach citizens around the world;
- Note that by the very nature and scope of this project that lead time and investment necessarily precede the launch of MASSIVEGOOD and that donations and market penetration will initially rise gradually before reaching their full potential;
- Express satisfaction and confidence following the operational launch of MASSIVEGOOD in Spain on June 1st and looking forward to further promotion of MASSIVEGOOD amongst Travel and Tourism professionals and travellers in the United States;
- Reaffirm his sincere confidence in MASSIVEGOOD and to call today for Travel and Tourism professionals and providers to join and support this important project.
